At Wakefield Inn, we’re pleased to offer you our NH culinary classes, where you’ll be introduced to the finest French culinary techniques. Accomplished chef Janel Martin leads these three-hour culinary adventures, and covers all the important elements of the French tradition. Learn about the correct way to handle your chef’s knife for fast, safe chopping and dicing, and how to create that culinary cornerstone of French cooking: flavorful basic stocks.

You’ll master the difference between such techniques as braising, broiling and grilling, and even find out which way is the best for cooking different cuts of meat. Chef Janel covers all the bases in these NH cooking lessons, and teaches you how to put together all the elements of a fine, gourmet meal, from salad dressing and sauces, to succulent vegetables, to the homemade breads that accompany your cuisine. And what would French cuisine be without rich cheeses and wine pairings? Rest assured – they’ll be covered in your NH culinary classes, as well.

Each class is three hours of hands-on learning, to master the concepts of fine cuisine in a stress free and fun environment. Class size is limited to 6. Please wear comfortable shoes and clothing for class.
